Lodging and meals are the responsibility of the student and are not included in the course cost.  However, we do offer private and shared hotel rooms on site, or you can rent a tent and sleeping bag!  Private and shared washrooms are available depending on your preference.

Himalayan Adventure Institute is the ideal location for a wilderness emergency medicine class because it is located in the lap of stunningly beautiful nature, but it also offers all the comforts of a hotel.  There are beds with blankets, hot showers and delicious meals in addition to everything you need in a training camp.  There is a large conference room with all of the modern technology required for audio and video learning, and there is ample space for indoor practice if the weather is bad.  If the weather is clear, we can train in a variety of outdoor locations including streamside.  Camping is also available for more adventurous students and after the course there will be opportunities for zipline, trekking, shooting, sport climbing and other on-site adventures.  You won't want to leave!

All of our training adheres to Wilderness Medical Society, American Red Cross and Wilderness Medical Educational Collaborative Guidelines.  The instructor was trained by the United States Department of Defense and was certified by the American National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and was also certified as a SOLO Wilderness Medicine Instructor.  Your instructor has taught for government agencies, ivy league universities like Yale and Brown, and top guide programs.  He has also led rescue operations around the world in conjunction with the American Red Cross and the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The best of the best selected the same instructor who will teach your certification program!
